= "Father Lockhart says, _When we arrived on the Isle of Bigail, it was a tangled thicket, awash with monsters. With hard work and courage, we cleared this land and made it our own, battling goblins, ursagi, cold and disease._";
= "_We did all this without the use of a single magical spell - only our efforts and holy prayers. Doesn't this show that the spells of mages are not necessary to perform great deeds?_";
= "Ahonar grins when you bring up the subject. _I have spoken to several Anama priests on the subject,_ he says, _and you do seem like excellent material. We welcome you._";
= "_You will need to renounce your magical spells. However, this will not be near the setback you imagine, for that knowledge will be replaced by a much greater knowledge of holy arts._";
= "_We will allow you into our inner sanctum, where you may peruse our prayer books and obtain many new rituals. In addition, there are devices available to replace the most useful mage spells._";
= "_This is the opportunity that is open to you. Lose a little power in a dangerous art, for much more power in a holy one. So I ask you, brave adventurers, will you join us?_";
= "(Joining the Anama takes away your ability to cast mage spells but gives much more powerful priest skills and other benefits. You can win the game whether or not you join the Anama.)";
= "";
= "The ceremony is short, elegant, and performed on the spot. You drop to your knees before Ahonar and take an oath never again to cast or train in Mage Spells. Ahonar promises, in turn, that the Anama will look after you and aid you always.";
= "As the words pour from your mouth, the knowledge of magery flows out of your head, replaced by a greater knowledge of the holy arts. Extra energy bubbles up inside you.";
= "At the conclusion of the ceremony, Ahonar places an Anama ring on your finger. It will not ever come off. He raises you to your feet and hugs you. He looks genuinely thrilled.";
= "And with that, the ceremony is done. You are now a full member of the Anama church. (You can no longer cast Mage Spells. However, all of your Priest Spells will now be far more effective.)";
= "This home has been recently abandoned. Score another one for the roaches.";
= "";
= "You stride into the city of Shayder, relieved that nobody seems about to attack you. It's a beautiful city, all clean wooden buildings and carefully tended lawns and gardens.";
= "Something, however, is not right. The city is too still. There are few people in the streets, and they avoid each other. Everyone takes great pains to not get too close to anyone else. Everything is way too quiet for such a large city.";
= "Strangest of all, however, is the smell. The pervasive odor of garbage, smoke, and rotting flesh. The odor sticks to your clothes, your hair, and the inside of your nose.";
= "You have reached the city of Shayder, and all is not well with their world.";
= "A note on the counter  reads: _To my customers. As much as I have enjoyed serving you, the disease and stress have been too much to handle. I have returned to the mainland. Thank you for your custom, and good luck to you! - Renton_";
= "";
= "This podium is almost bare, waiting to be covered with useless forms nobody will ever care about. The only thing you find of potential value is a scroll tube, dusty and forgotten.";
= "";
= "Ahonar says, _I can see that you do have a horrible curse. I do not like to trifle with such curses. It can be incredibly dangerous. However, I see within you a great destiny. I think it would be more dangerous to let the curse remain._";
= "He says a brief, intense prayer. Your skin burns, as if the curse was being seared away, you stumble backwards, filled with agony. You fall to the ground. Then, greatly weakened, you stand again. The curse is gone.";
= "";
= "";
= "You find the chest Irvine told you about. Sure enough, there's a small parcel inside, tightly wrapped in twine.";
= "";
= "Ahonar looks very disappointed. He says a brief prayer. It is a very short, simple ritual. The rings on your fingers turn to dust and fall away, but you feel no different.";
= "_It is done. I will still provide you with teaching, and you are still welcome on this isle, but you may never belong to our faith again._ He turns away.";
= "";
= "";
= "At the end of the dock is a ferry, ready to take you to the town of Marish, to the north on the mainland. The ferry costs the very reasonable rate of ten coins. ";
= "The sailors know that you are an outlaw on this island. They also don't care. They're from Sharimik.";
= "He gladly takes the ring and returns it to his finger. _Excellent. Thank you very much._ You remind him of the promised reward. _Oh. I completely forgot. Thanks for reminding me._";
= "It takes him a long time and causes him considerable sadness, but he counts out the coins, scoops them into a bag, and hands it to you.";
= "";
= "";
= "The Anama have set up a polished hardwood box here, ready for tithes. There are no coins in it at the moment. ";
= "";
= "Jed takes the salve eagerly. He smells and tastes it. _Yes! This is excellent stuff. Exactly what I need. I can save at least a few lives with this._";
= "He puts the salve away. _I'll make sure that people hear of your good deed today. Also, I know another way I can help you. If you find Meena, ask her to train you. She travels from town to town on the isle, and she knows some useful tricks._";
= "";
= "";
= "You stand before the main altar of the Anama faith. Whatever one's view on their philosophy, it's hard not to be impressed by the size, intricate carving, and warm, energetic glow. For not using magic, they are able to summon remarkable power.";
= "";
= "You kneel. Suddenly, your false Anama rings disintegrate. You feel a chill that goes all the way to your bones. It doesn't entirely fade.";
= "";
= "This desk is very dusty. The owner of this office has not been here for some time. The desk contains some old supplies and a few scrolls. An old letter hints that the owner of this home is someone named 'Nell.'";
= "You look through the scrolls and are excited to find that they describe secret Anama holy rituals. Maybe they were stolen from the Anama.";
= "";
= "When you try to use the wheel that controls the city gates, a guard runs over to stop you. _They are to be left open. None who come to us for help are turned away. Even you, outsider._";
= "";
= "You try to turn the wheel, but it refuses to budge. Someone has locked it in place.";
= "";
= "This is the Shayder city hall. However, it has been abandoned. Dust covers everything, and the forms on the table are starting to yellow.";
= "";
= "A note tacked to the door to the east reads _Closed due to quarantine. Do not enter._";
= "";
= "A note on the wall reads: _To all concerned: Lockhart passed away, after a brief but valiant struggle with his illness. Condolences may be passed to his family. Speak with Ahonar for details. Lockhart will be missed._";
= "";
= "Several large bonfires burn in this chamber. They're here to incinerate items and bodies infected by the roach plague. It's a horrid and effective testimonial to the extent of the plague. The oily smoke coats absolutely everything, including your lungs.";
